About the role

We take research interns year-round, on a rolling basis. You will work alongside our founding research team on the core problem at Algebra: certifying the safety of learned, high-dimensional robot policies. Expect real research, real robots, and real responsibility.

What you will do

  • Prototype and benchmark safety methods in simulation and on hardware
  • Contribute to the tools and experiments behind our guarantees
  • Read deeply, implement quickly, and share what you learn

What we are looking for

  • A current or recent student in robotics, controls, machine learning, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills in Python; C++ or Rust is a plus
  • A genuine interest in safe control, reinforcement learning, or verification

Nice to have

  • Research or open-source experience
  • Hands-on robotics experience

What we offer

  • We take research interns year-round, on a rolling basis
  • Work directly with the founding research team
  • Hands-on access to real robots and the production safety layer
  • Mentorship and a path toward full-time research roles
